Video: Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand (feat. Pharell, Kanye, Armand Van Helden and MORE)

Could this be the most awesome video of the year. It sure is the most star-studded (unless Diddy comes out with another Bad Boy 4 Life style clip).

If you can pick them, the clip features Kanye West, Pharrell, Armand Van Helden, Santigold, Todd Terry, Chromeo, DJ Premier and Ryan Leslie to name a few...

Check out samples of Chromeo's new album Business Casual on the link below as well, P-Thugg and Dave 1 have crafted another modern rock party starter!

Video: Ciara feat. The-Dream - Speechless

Ciara has a new album and the vibes are that's one of her better efforts. The album is executive-produced by Tricky Sewart and The-Dream, who wrote and produced this chart-topper.

The track is wide open and minimal (for a Dream prduction anyway) and allows Ciara's slight voice room to breathe, meaning that while it's not always affecting, it's effective.

Lots of homely gyrating in this video, which left us Speechless. The new album is Basic Instinct, click on the Amazon link below for samples. Remember The-Dream's album is awesome too!

Download: Lost in the World - Kanye West feat. Bon Iver

Haven't blogged for a couple days, I apologize!!!!  To make up for it, here's a high quality (with a couple of audiofix shoutouts) rip of a song tipped to be on Kanye's new album (which may or may not be called Dark Twisted Fantasy).

Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver) lone vocals kick-off this jam and are beautiful, although they are in no way indicative of where this tracks heads once the beat drops.  I'll leave it as a surprise, but this will definitely get your feet moving for the end of the week.

Get the track HERE, thanks to YOURAUDIOFIX.COM

The track also samples Bon Ivers 'The Woods'.  Here it is below.  And if you're one of the few who haven't checked out their 2007 album 'For Emma, Forever Ago', you are missing out big time, and should check it out now.  Click on the album link below for samples!!

Video: Jersey Shore's 'The Situation' on Dancing with the Stars

When one talks about the Situation, it used to mean that somebody accidentally wet their pants, or something possibly worse.  These days, the Situation is a character on Jersey Shore, the MTV reality show that's taken the US by storm.  For those interested, here's The Situation strutting his stuff on the first ep of Dancing with the Stars for the new season

Video: Will.I.Am learns dance moves from Grover on Sesame Street

Will.I.Am dropped into Sesame Street the other day and Grover stepped in to teach him a couple dance moves.  Unfortunately, he didn't teach the Black Eyed Pea how to produce decent music. Somehow, I don't think even Super Grover could make that happen.

Here's Will.I.Am singing What I Am with the cast on Sesame Street HERE

Video: M.I.A.: "Story to Be Told"

M.I.A.'s new album hasn't travelled that well commercially or critically, but that won't stop her assaulting the internet with brutally visual video's like this.  Check out the catchpa-based clip at this exclusive website....

Video: The MTV VMA's - Kanye West performs 'Runaway'+ Bieber, Rihanna and Eminem!

So, the thought was that Kanye would atone for last years Taylor Swift debacle with an apology in song.  We,, Kanye being Kanye, and this being the VMA's, I guessing it was fitting that he subverted the consensus that he needed to apologise by performing a song saying that girls should stay away from him because he's an a**hole.  A shrewd move, and one that should never have worked.  It did work, it does work, and he's still an a**hole.  And a douchebag and a scumbag.  Lets have a toast

Video: Jay-Z and Friends Close out Yankee Stadium

Anyone watching the VMA's the other night will remember Eminem had to leave early to fly to New York to be a part of Jay-Z's Yankee Stadium gig, and from all indications it was a show for the ages. Kanye Eminem, Beyonce, Chris Martin, Nicki minaj and Drake all turned out to celebrate the homecoming, but beyond the special guest, the show itself was a killer. Check some of the highlights below...

Essay: Aaliyah - One in a million

It's roughly nine years since R&B songstress Aaliyah died in a plane crash on the way back from a video for the track 'Rock the boat', and while I would like to express my own feelings on the event, I was also intrigued to see that the music industry seems to still hold her pretty close to it's heart.

Many artists hit up Twitter, Blogs and other social networks to all profess their undying love for Aaliyah's music and for the person that she was.  So why is she still held in such esteem?

Aaliyah peaked at about the same time that R&B took off as a musical force.  It sort of helped that production guru Timbaland was behind a lot of her classic hits, but it went both ways.  Not everybody can excel on a Timbaland track (check his last two compilations albums for proof), but Aaliyah's breathy delivery was seemingly tailor-made to ricochet off Timbo's staccato beats.

Her only number one single was 'try Again' which was part of the soundtrack to the film 'Romeo must die', a film in which Aaliyah also starred.  Both her film and music careers were in an upward swing and the void left by her death was always going to hard to fill.  A truly angelic singer and even better person.  R.I.P.

Here are some of the Celebrity tweets...
- 'We'll always love you Aaliyah,' Nicki Minaj
- "Aaliyah was an inspiration, always kept me & my friends in [Kansas City] out of trouble. Too busy in the mirror doing her 'swoop' bang & dance moves.:)" Janelle Monae
- "R.I.P. Aaliyah" T.I.
- "Today is the day that the R&B Angel Aaliyah passed on. RT if you loved her the way I did!!WE MISS YOU BABYGIRL!!!!"  Ne-Yo
- "We'll always love you Aaliyah," Diddy
- "RIP Aaliyah, U can NEVER be replaced!!"  Ciara

Here's some of her classics

Download: Kanye West feat. Charlie Wilson, Common, Big Sean and Pusha T - Good Friday

Kanye keeps them coming!  Ever since he announced that every Friday would be G.O.O.D. Friday and he would release a new track, he has kept his promise and put some great stuff out there.  This is an old school sampling, good feeling, low-riding banger featuring a host of A-Grade MC's and the sweet pipes of Mr Charlie Wilson.

I can't show the cover pic because it has naked ladies on it!

Do you know how to Dougie?  If you're not sure how to launch yourself into the next dodgy internet dance sensation, two of the stars of popular US TV show that you might have heard of 'Glee', are here to show you how it's done.  I also included the original video for Cali Swag Districts 'How to Dougie' song.  Cali Swag District, is that a real suburb?

Stream: Rihanna - Only Girl (In the world)

Produced by Stargate, the first single off Rihanna's new album is a slight shot of bubbly Euro-pop, that will satisfy her fans but probably not convert any new ones. It'll be interesting to see how the transformation from the 'good girl gone bad' to her more upbeat new sound affects her album.

Gucci Mane uses a hell of a lot of major label bank to fund this expensive looking vid, directed by Chris Robinson. Sampling blog-house giants Justice, the clip also features Swizz Beatz and his recognizable B-Boy stance.

Video: B.o.B. feat. Rivers Cuomo - Magic

This was on of the more inspired collabo's off B.o.B's wildly overrated debut album, the Adventures of Bobby Ray, and this clip is no less energetic. It's a high school kegger, with B.o.B. reminiscing over his glory days.

It was Beyonce's 29th B-day on the weekend, so I thought we should do a video tribute to the diva who dished up some of the most memorable R&B songs and video's of the last 10 years or so.  Happy Birthday Mrs Knowles!

Stream: Pitchfork's Top 200 Tracks of the 90's

pitchfork.com has just finished counting down their Top 200 Tracks of the 1990's.  Dance and Hip-Hop was well-represented at the top of the list.  Here's a few of the choice cuts and a little about why I think they deserved their lofty positions.  If you click on the song, it will take you to the track.

Dr. Dre [ft. Snoop Doggy Dogg] "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang"

NWA were some bad asses in the late 80's, early 90's.  So when Dr Dre left the group, many wondered what he would do next.  That he crafted the ulitmate G-Funk party jam was a little out of left field, but it was a brilliant move, and yet it was not even his most brilliant move. No, the coup de gras was finding a young Long Beach rapper named Snoop Doggy Dogg, whose laconic flow was a perfect foil for Dre's gruff bluster.  There's a  reason people have been anticipating Dre's long-awaited Detox album for so long, and it's due to classics like this.

The Notorious BIG - Juicy

When I first moved to the city I was 21 and while I was a fan of Hip Hop, I was hardly qualified as a Hip Hop Head.  That all changed when I found a flyer advertising a local Hip Hop radio show (shout out to 93.7 degree's in the shade), which I then produced to tape on cassette week in , week out.

One of the tracks that was always on rewind was Biggie's Juicy.  The reason why was very simple.  The dude sounded just like me, talking about playing Sega, sitting in his one room shack and letting his tape rock until that tape popped.  He shouted out the old school like Marley Marl, and then told of his rise to riches.  The beat was pretty sweet too, but it was the story-telling that sucked us all in.

Aaliyah - Are You That Somebody?

It sat snug on the Doctor Dolittle soundtrack and immediately sounded like it didn't fit.  Not just with the movie, but with everything that going on in R&B at that point in time.  There's some weird stuff going on in there - the baby cooing, Timbaland's frantic beatboxing - but Aaliyah rides it like the star she was.  Possibly the best interpreter of Timbo's crazy productions (apologies to Missy), Aaliyah's breathy flow addressed the subject matter succinctly without ever letting go of the beat.

Video: Big Boi feat. Yelawolf - You ain't no DJ

Another week, another Big Boi video.  This ones for the Andre 3000 produced 'You ain't no DJ' featuring up and coming Yelawolf, whose mixtape Trunk Muzik was a banger for most of last year.

Rhyme Capsule: The Streets - Weak Become Heroes (released 2002)

Weak Become Heroes was the third single from The Streets debut album Original Pirate Material.  The song harkens back to Streets frontman Mike Skinners first clubbing days in 1995 and paean to the many people harvested the rave culture that Mike so fondly recalls in the song.

The song itself is economical, but hits the perfect notes.  Skinner, being the honest lad that he is, has no problem telling us that that 'same piano loops over and over'.  That piano loop, is a pretty looping four-note progression that presides over the two faces of the song.

The first refrain soundtracks Skinners first youthful dalliance's with Ecstacy, and the piano perfectly highlights Skinners lyrics about the joy of new experiences, the expectation for the future and friendships that seem like they'll last forever.  It also works on the flipside too, as the second half of the song wistfully recalls the inevitable comedown and the realization that that future he so looked forward too has passed all too quickly (I'm five years older, the piano loops over and over).

Video: Groove Armada - Dance it up (promo vid)

The video geniuses behind this clip for Groove Armada's new tune were supposed to make a 30 second ad but got carried away.  You'll love it.

Video: Carrie the Merengue Dancing Dog!

This is actually scary.  The dog gets up on his hind legs and starts strutting and yelping and it's freakin' me out!

Video: The full Shaq vs. Beiber Dance off!

Who knew Bieber could dance?  Damn, who knew Shaq could dance??  This is quite funny, and both dudes have some nice moves.  I reckon Bieber was a little freaked, every time Shaq came near him he flinched!  The Big Shamrock (Shaq's latest nickname) is intimidating.

Review: StreetDance 3D on DVD

What do you when you've just qualified for the National Titles, your lead dancer and choreographer quits for no real reason and you suddenly find yourself in charge of a group of dancers who will dump you if you forget to book the studio for the next practice?

In Carly's (Nichola Burley) case, you go back to delivering sandwiches.  Luckily, in one of her deliveries to a snooty Ballet School, she catches the eye of the ballet teacher (Charlotte Rampling), who makes Carly an offer she can't refuse - Teach my ballet dancers Hip Hop, and you can use the dance space.

Video: Demi Moore dances with Snoop

With hubby Ashton Kutcher looking on, Demi Moore hopped on stage to get jiggy with Snoop Dogg.  Lucky she didn't have any Striptease flashbacks and decided to keep her clothes on.

Video: Tons of Movie Dance Scenes cut together with 'Footloose'

In an inspired piece of editing magic, some genius has cut a ton of movies greatest dance scenes together and put them to Kenny Loggin's Footloose.  Everything is here, from Flashdance to White Knights, Billy Elliott to Jack Black in High Fidelity.  Try not dancing to this one!
