Blog: LCD Soundsystem has finished new album

According to Pitchfork, LCD Soundsystem has finished their new album. Possible release dates include March or April, but don't hold your breath. Stylistically, vocalist James Murphy admits it's similar to what they've done before, but definitely better. If you're still catching up on LCD, here's some material worth checking out.

Fail: Schools Rock Eisteddfod Cancelled due to lack of funding

Pure Funk has choreographed for the Rock Eisteddfod's for the past few years, so it was a great disappointment to see that the event has been dropped from the school calendar. Reduced financial support has been blamed for the cancellation, so here's hoping some wealthy beneficiary steps in to float this worthy event (well, they do it for footy clubs all the time).

I've already blogged about Jay's new track and where Swizz Beatz jagged the addictive chorus from, so I thought I better up the clip as well. The Clipse/Camron collabo, although not being the out-the-park beast we all expected it to be, is still a worthwhile banger featuring three of the best lyricists in the game.

I'm still waiting for Killa Cam to return on some Purple Haze s**t, because his last album was not the salvo I was hoping it would be. Ditto the Clipse, who I hate to hate on for being too commercial, so I won't. What I will say is that the beat choices for their latest album were not on par with their last classic release (admittedly they set the bar pretty high with Hell hath no fury). Maybe an all Pharrell produced album is something they need to explore on the next joint.

Diplo, a Philadelphia native, is a noted producer and one half of Major Lazer, who album 'Guns don't kill... people do' blazed it's way across dancefloors late last year with it's mix of dancehall and miami bass.

His production credits include Santigold and M.I.A., and the latter pops up on twitter-released mash-up that Diplo dropped this weekend. Noting the similarities between MIA's 'Boyz', and Rihanna's 'Rudeboy', Diplo went to the length of throwing the two together just to make it clear.

19 year old Charlie Bruce, who hails from Leicester, has won the UK's version of So You Think You Can Dance.
Charlies burst into tears when host Cat Deeley revealed she had won, and said she would "never forget" the experience.

The teenager added that she was "absolutely speechless" at her success and added: "Thank you so much. I did it."

Video: Jay-Z samples Justice!

If you've heard Jay-Z's latest album, you've no doubt heard the Swizz Beatz produced 'On to the Next one'. What you probably don't know about that song is that Swizz sampled the chorus from French dance act Justice and their song 'D.A.N.C.E.'. Swizz has admitted it, and check out the video to see just how it was done.
